When Kimmy first called and we were discussing dates for their engagement session I threw out a date and she mentioned that it probably wouldn’t work because they were going to Octoberfest that night. Apparently Kimmy and Nick LOVE Octoberfest. It’s there thing! So we decided we had to shoot at least some of their session there. I always encourage my couples to make their engagement session uniquely “them”. So I was thrilled that she and Nick were on board with the idea. We first started the session at Philbrook so we could get something a bit more traditional. If you’re going to do something outside the box, be sure and do something a little more tame for Mom and Grandma. As much as you might love a shot of you toasting your fiance with a beer in a plastic cup, it’s probably not something Mom wants to hang on her wall.

I don’t do jumping shots a lot for engagement sessions but everytime I do I happen to get a girl who can jump freakishly high.

So there’s not a ton of pictures that say “Octoberfest” on here. But trust me… there’s some fun ones!
