Sharee & Josh: Married – Guthrie Wedding Photographer
This weather this May has been unbelievable. 2 years ago in May it rained for 22 days straight. 1 year ago in May it was upper 90’s with about 2000% humidity. This May we’ve had beautiful weather for weddings (despite one rainy day… which we were still able to do gorgeous outdoor shots between the rain and we didn’t melt from the humidity)! Okay its been windy, but we can handle windy! For Sharee and Josh’s wedding it was just a perfect Spring day. It was even cool in the evening. For a wedding photographer that sweats like a horse glistens it was such a relief.
Josh and Sharee were married at the GORGEOUS Dominion House in Guthrie. (If you’re looking for a venue I highly recommend it. And the staff was also incredible to work with!) Despite them first being against a first look, they decided to go for it. So we had time to run to downtown Guthrie for some street shots. As we were driving downtown Josh said “I’m so glad we decided to see eachother beforehand!” No lie. He really did.
Sharee has been such a great bride to work with. I think I mentioned before that she’s just this incredibly chill person who is funny, and she surrounds herself with the same type of people. Thus, her bridesmaids rocked! Where some girls would be freaking out and stressing, Sharee was laughing. She and Josh laugh together a lot, its pretty charming actually.
I love Josh’s face at seeing his bride for the first time! Priceless!
Um… fave! Definetly wall portrait worthy.
April’s view! Love it.
True story time: While walking in downtown Guthrie we were passing a group of teenagers. In this group there was a girl. That particular girl was in a bikini. Keep in mind, in the shade, it was pretty cool. I was in a sweater. And its not as if she had a bikini body either, just sayin’. April and I being the stealth photojournalist we are quickly each grabbed a different shot of her. Right after that Sharee and Josh also noticed her and asked us to get a picture. The moral of this story, we know what our clients want before even they do. 🙂 P.S. The more April and I tell this story, the colder the temperture gets. A few more times and the story will have morphed in to her walking in a bikini in snow up to her knees. But seriously! Who walks around downtown streets in a bikini for no particular reason?? Storytime concluded. Like I said, Dominion House is gorgeous, the grounds are an amazing backdrop for a ceremony! And check out the awesome programs/fans. Grace with Paper 8 (formerly Communicate Creatively) designed the stationery! Love it!!In place of a guestbook, Sharee and Josh had this. The guests would put their fingerprint on the tree and then sign their name. I had never seen anything like this before and I thought it was just such a neat and personal addition. Can’t remember exactly what it was that got Sharee and her dad so tickled, I think it was the flowergirl, but I love this shot!
Cake by Sugar, flowers by the always freakin’ amazing Bridal Garden! I also love that Sharee hired a few Tulsa vendors for her Guthrie wedding!
