This wedding. Oooh this wedding. It was one of those days that was just perfect. The first time I met with Chelsie and Trent and they told me they were having an outdoor wedding in August, admittedly, I cringed a little. The heat last year was just so unrelenting throughout August and we just didn’t know what this year would be like. But Chelsie had checked the almanac and it was pretty accurate. Turns out, the week of their wedding, we weren’t worried about scorching temperatures, we were worried about rain. (something I haven’t worried about for my weddings all summer long!) But the day turned out beautifully! The wind was nice, the temperature perfect. And to top it off, once everyone was inside enjoying the reception, it poured and poured. (Remember that night?? It was great!) It was just a great Oklahoma day. And most definitely, the perfect day for a garden wedding. (I feel like I’m always talking about weather when it comes to my wedding blogs. Hmm… I guess that’s just Oklahoma for ya)

Everyone started out the day at the Mayo hotel getting ready. Chelsie had an amazing dress! It was so unique and just fabulous on her! And of course we love a great pair of Jimmy Choos.Gilcrease Museum Wedding 01

They opted for their first look to be downtown and then everyone took the trolley to Gilcrease.

Aren’t these colors just to die for? I think Chelsie had one of the most beautiful bouquets I’ve ever photographed. It was just so her.

I love a group shot like this. But let me tell ya for my brides, shots like this take a good little while to set up. Its almost like putting together a puzzle. Ya gotta find the right spot, with the right light, and the most flattering angle for a lot of folks.

Okay now, I can’t talk about this wedding without talking about the killer party they had! I had such a great time photographing it. The food was great, the music was great, and the guests had a blast! The dance floor was packed the entire night!!
