Viktoriya and Craig’s wedding at Golf Club of Oklahoma was… beautiful, enchanting, sweet… I don’t really know how to put it into words. The truth is that I really, really struggle writing about weddings. Not because they aren’t amazing, but because I struggle in the writing department. So although every wedding is completely unique and special I feel like I make all weddings sound alike. And that’s really not the case, especially when it comes to this beautiful wedding! It had some of the best vendors in Tulsa working on it, Viktoriya is an absolute doll and I love her, and watching a New Yorker marry a European woman is just really entertaining. But all that doesn’t give you a clear idea about the day. So I’m going to change things up today and do a top 5 list of some of my favorite parts that set this day apart! Here goes:

1) Putting Viktoriya in her Dress
Every now and then I end up being the one to a put a bride in her dress on the wedding day. At bridal sessions I end up doing it by default of being the only one available so on the wedding day I’m occasionally asked to jump in. Dresses are complicated and I’ve been to approximately 9,391 weddings so I sorta pride myself into being able to put a bride in her gown (that and I can pin a boutonniere on like a champ!) .

2) Craig’s Vows
It was the perfect mix of funny and sweetness. And her reactions to it were just so perfect.

3) Viktoriya’s stepdad’s speech
He gave an incredible speech and I learned more about Viktoriya than I knew. The things this woman has accomplished are really incredible. No wonder Craig fell head over heels in love with her – she’s a catch!

4) The food!
That can be an option, right? It’s always appreciated when the vendors get to eat the same thing the guests do and Golf Club has awesome food!!

5) The language difference
Viktoriya’s family and a number of her guests also speak Ukranian (or is it Russian? Viktoriya, feel free to correct me) and I kept finding myself trying to understand them and thinking I could figure it out. Like… what even, Murphy? I didn’t have the faintest clue but I sure enjoyed listening to them speak to one another!

BONUS: I had a fan girl moment – It was kind of shameful.
So for half the day I kept trying to figure out from where I knew one of the videographers. During dinner the photographers and videographers had a minute to chat and we were talking about our pasts and how we got started and he mentioned in passing that he had been in a band. Well… in high school I spent every Friday night going to different churches, venues, and coffee shops listening to bands. It was my life. #Christiankid #homeschooled So things started clicking in my brain, I asked him what band, and when he replied Philmore I jumped out of my chair and basically squealed and shouted and woke the dead. Of all the bands I followed around, Philmore was my favorite. I fan girled. It wasn’t pretty.
