Sammi & Josh: Married – Tulsa Wedding Photographer
Sammi and Josh got married on a hot summer day. And by hot, I mean I’m pretty sure it was the hottest day we had. We kept saying it will cool off, it will cool off by the wedding. Well, it didn’t. So despite having plans for an outdoor wedding, they decided it was neccesary to move it indoors. Luckily they were getting married at the beautiful Silo at Redberry Farms so it was just a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding. Sammi and Josh are just the sweetest couple. Not only have I gotten to know them, but I’ve had the opportunity to get to know their mamas. Who are fabulous, btw! Getting to know the family of my couples is always an added bonus, but this family is just a joy! They love each other so much and are so close. It made my job sooo much fun! Their family portraits that I took are some of my favorites of all time. We chatted ahead of time about the importance of family portraits. I think photographers frequently don’t see the importance of what that family portrait means on a wedding day, but to me, its just as important as the couples portraits and the photojournalism of the day, etc. These are the pictures that you’re going to be hanging on your walls, and that you’ll show your grandchildren someday. When Sammi viewed the images for the first time she cried. Then I cried because she was crying. And we were all just a crying mess. 🙂 But it was a nice reminder about how important my job really is.
